Well, the old one was shot....the drum unit and another unit that holds the
drum unit.
I ordered the same model from geeks.com which had been refurbished by Brother.
It will not feed from the paper tray. The paper is picked up by the roller and
it feeds as far as the point where it should go through the drum unit and it
simply hangs.....just like something is blocking it. You can even see that the
paper is slightly creased where it tries to feed through. I can't find
anything blocking it, but I really don't know the feed path for sure.
It is interesting that it will feed through the single-sheet feed slot.
The other functions are just fine............so far as I've been able to
determine at this point.
They'll replace it or refund me, no problem..........except that they are
currently out of this model. Not sure when another batch will come in.
That sort of sours me on refurbished models.......except from the mfgr.
Anyone familiar with this problem? I'm gonna hang out for a bit and see if
they get any more in.
I may try to find a NEW one at a good price after the holidays.
