I don't really need to "rename" anything.
Actually I can just drag and drop the contents of each directory into
whatever directory I choose. But..............I have to CD to each and
every directory in order to do that.
Isn't there any lazy folks like me out there who can help <smile>?

Simple way to do this.
Open folder that you want to copy all of the files to.
Right click on the parent folder of the files you want to move and do
a search of *.mp3
Highlight the files you want and then drag them to the already open folder
