None of these files SHOULD be needed for longer than the end of the current
day, and a reboot, whichever comes last.

However some applications are 'naughty' and will create subdirectories in
locations that should only be used for temporary storage
so do not just delete the entire contents of 'TMP' locations if you are in
the middle of installing software, applying updates, or may need to look at
logs/recovery files

Other than that, -
you should have no problems deleting any .tmp file that has a timestamp
prior to your last boot.

You may also find that a look at the IE temp storage area can be
horrifying - if for nothing more than the sheer number of files with a size
of 0

If you are interested, there are some 'forums and mailing lists that address
'system cleanup',
such as Fred Langa's 'Langalist'

Look here for a startpoint to join - and then look at the archives for links
to the discussions, advice, caveats, and do-it-for-you scripts.

You don't have to pay anything, but I, and many others would suggest the
small subscription for the 'enhanced version' is worth it just to keep the
newsletter running
