If one copies their Total Commander folder to a USB thumb drive then edit the path in the WinCmd.ini file replacing the drive & top level folder with %COMMANDER_PATH% then TC will run straight from the USB thumb drive. Keep in mind if TC needs to use a temp folder for extractions etc then it will use the systems temp folder by default. I suppose one could run from the cmd line set temp=drive:\temp\ that is on the thumb drive & you could make the temp variable a TC subfolder with %COMMANDER_PATH% in a TC menu item so all you would have to do is click the menu to alter the system's temp folder location. If you do this then you should reboot the system after pulling your thumb drive unless you remember where the default location was.

FWIW all this is much easier running from an XpPe Cd as the temp variable is set to a ramdrive on boot up & TC runs directly from the cd so the system is not touched unless you want or need to.
