Doesn't solve the problem. Problem isn't TV shows that will occur in the future, problem is a TV show that occurred in the past and isn't likely to be repeated.
And FWIW, standalone low-end TV capture cards go for $40 and work just fine. -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Marc Sims Sent: Saturday, January 14, 2006 8:07 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Downloading TV Do it the easy way. I have a ATI AIW 9600 AGP Pro card of which I simply hook up to may cable TV Net and use the built in TV application which comes with Catalyst software with the card and I record directlt from the cable net without paying the $1.99 per ep. You can get any TV capture card for less than $200.00 any card will do but I like ATI AIW IMHO. Besides the argument for copyright violation this is legit and legal. its the same as taping a program via vcr exept the only difference is thet the video stream through card is being encoded into mpeg2. Vcr is analog. Marc Sims Data Technician I Prince George's Community College >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] Friday, January 13, 2006 >>> I've been asked by a friend how to download TV shows for viewing on a PC or burning to DVD. I loaded iTunes and noted it had only a very limited selection of TV episodes available for purchase. So I googled and came across tv.org, which appears to be a peer-to-peer sharing service, with a membership fee requirement. Across the home page are emblazoned: "Unlimited TV show downloads" "Millions of users" "Never miss an episode again" "Plus unlimited Movie downloads" and on the membership signup page: "100% spyware and adware free" When I hear "peer to peer file sharing" I tremble (spyware / trojans / illegal / etc.). Anyone using this and happy with it? Not looking for in-experienced commentary (I can do that myself), thanks. thanks, Carl -- ---------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is your picture included in the Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page? http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html If not, write to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
