Remember that problems are a bit like exam papers.... Somewhere on the
question paper there is a clue or even the answer to the questions; usually
the first 3 questions have clues to the answers in the latter questions.

I always inform my students - don't panic - read the whole paper and refer
to later questions if you can't get anywhere with the first one.

Apart from the complete assholes most manage to get decent marks.

So approach problems and look for clues not answers.....?

Remember. You may honestly belive that you understood everything
you thought I said but what you thought you heard wasn't
          exactly what I said.
