Beat you to it........ That is exactly what I did. Mine has two
flexible leads with a male "D" on the end. The connector on the card
is a bit naff though. The other thing is that Win sees comms 3 & 4.
Didn't suss it straight away though, and had to tell the software to
use comm 3 instead of the default com 1

There is a bit of leeway at 100MHz, about 25% less at 133MHz !!

Good equipment helps. I have a vacumn pump soldering iron as well as
normal ones. However a tip. Suck from the other side of the board
from the soldering iron. Its a lot easier that way !!

Yes I agree, it is very easy to damage and lift tracks, even with a hot
air tool. Problem is by the time you see the lacquer boil it often too
late.

I don't know about a fortune, since most people won't pay the labour
costs to have their computer repaired.! They seem to want to dump it
and buy a new one !!!!! Trouble is credit is too easy to get
nowadays.

Ok you made me admit it....... The first thing I did when I got my new
Dell, was to put Linux on it, and Open DOS. So it now triple boots.
