Are you sure those are the specs for a laptop? The CPU seems high as does
the video card.
New laptops with similar specs are selling for around $500 - 700 after
rebate. Depending on it's age and condition (as well as availability of
original disks) he might get $400 - maybe more. He won't get near what he
paid for it though.
