Still doing some testing...I just tried changing the account type
back to admin again. The History and Temporary files are still being
logged correctly because I can view them with no problem when the
account is set to admin. I can change the account type back to
limited and both continue to function normally until I reboot. Then
it's back to just displaying History.IE5 and Content.IE5 for the two
respectively.
I'm thinking something must have gotten screwed up during the cloning
process (I used the disc that came with the new Seagate drive to do
it. I've done it before but oh well...) Firstly, because Office XP
wasn't working quite right the first time I accessed it from the
limited account. But it asked if I wanted to repair and worked fine
afterwards. Secondly, because the media files that were associated
with Media Player 10 were showing generic icons, even though they
would still associated with MP and would play when clicked. I
straightened that out, too, with no problem.
But, this deal with cache folders not displaying correclty, I don't
have a clue what else to do. If I don't come up with a solution
today, I guess I'll create a new limited account and go from
there. It won't be nearly as painful to do that as starting from scratch.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that somebody here can offer a
solution. <crossed>
