Hi all,

I have recently tried installing a USB buddy soundcard cum microphone. The microphone was misrecognised by my Windows 2000 installation as a USB audio device. It should have been recognised as a Buddy USB microphone according to the manual.

I have an older buddy sound card (InSync Buddy USB 4G) that worked flawlessly. I had removed it at the time when I tried installing the Buddy USB desktop microphone. When I plugged in the older sound card, I found it showing up as a USB audio device instead of the cMedia as it used to show earlier.

What is wrong? I have made several changes since I installed that cmedia device such as a bios update and some USB driver updates.
You can see the desktop USB Buddy microphone at

the InSync Buddy USB 4G seems to be out of date. At the time I bought it, you could see a description at
