Valid points you make here. But Symantec is like any other software Company in that their only purpose is to sell products that consumers are willing to buy to make money.
Agreed that Symantec has to make it much easier for people to uninstall Older versions from their PC's and I wouldn't use Symantec on a dial-up POTS. Its most suitable for broadband cable internet for auto updates like DSL or cable. Besides Symantec being complacent let's not forget Microsoft for one. For instance if you were to ask a teenager 10 years ago what they used for an office suite they would use Microsoft products. Ask that same question now and they'd say OpenOffice, Linux, MacOS or any other opensourced product on the net. This shows how irrelevant Microsoft has become because the company itself is still viewed as being heavily tied to shrink wrap products and PC's and people are getting tired of using everything that's Microsoft as in MSN, .NET Framework, Office, Money ect. Why does it have to be Microsoft this and Microsoft that? I use Microsoft Office and Windows because that's what was what I grew up to know and Its was the only game in the computer IT business in the 80's. It was a time that Windows 3.0 was in vogue and Office 4 was the office suite to use. There wasn't any opensource or even any real internet WWW at the time to speak of. Symantec may not be the best to some and Microsoft either. The Microsoft PC ethos is "A PC on Every desk and in every home." Their Internet ethos is "Information At Your Fingertips". Yes but what more is there besides just the office suite and the Internet and if its Microsoft its works? AHA! Mighty Microsoft can't figure that one out can they? Well XBOX 360 is just one example of going outside the PC and the internet. I think that Microsoft Is too big for its britches and has gotten too powerful for its own good. -----Original Message----- From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kylde Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2006 12:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: DVD burning they give me too many headaches removing their products from other people's machines :) -- ---------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is your picture included in the Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page? http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html If not, write to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
