What exact version of that program are you running?
(Or the Codec, if you can find it.)
Think it is a NERO bug that might get (or be) fixed?
Why would Nero be that stupid (careless, sloppy, etc...)

That's because Nero's codec is used to both encode & decode
[playback] the video. Unfortunately Nero's version of Mpeg4 is not
included in stand alone players or more precisely it's more
unfortunate that Nero does not comply with the already established
Mpeg4 standard.
