Of course rhetorical, but the question there is: how many copies of the
work exist? Only one [on your DVR]. Now, if you started burning DVD
copies for all your friends that'd be different. I assume you agree that
having the ability to store a show on your DVR doesn't give you the right
to bang out copies at your whim and convenience?

No I don't agree. 1st I don't bang out copies for my friends but I do like to make DVDs for myself just in case I want to watch the thing again at a later date & don't want to limit myself to the size of the HD that the cable company says that I am allowed to have. Who's businesses is it anyway how many movie titles that I have? Next thing you know it we'll only be allowed to wear our clothes once then we'll have to throw them away so we'll be forced to buy the latest & greatest technology.

OBTW the copyright flag is not about new developing technology but it's about breaking existing technology & their is a HUGE difference. By it's very nature it's branding all that want to make a copy for personal use a pirate & it's wrong just as branding all that carry a credit card a burglar because they have burglar tools would be wrong.
