Hugh,

5 hd @ 20watt (peak 30 @ system startup possibly) = 100 ~ 150 watt
DVD CD 5 watt each
USB 5 watt? per device
CPU 100 watt? or up to 140 - depending ... I'd have to look up the
manufacturer's specification
MOBO 20 watts it'self
memory 15 watts

I make that about 350watts, perhaps even 400

and
Firewire nVidia 5600 GX 8 x AGP graphics
plus it's extra cooling, I'd make very sure the airflow is adequate within
the case
and outside the case as well - not for use in the warmer parts of the world,
unless there's also aircon to cool the air before it gets sucked into the
case

out all the bugs and problems. I don't want to do this again for another 5
years or so. My plan is to pull my HD's and CD-DVD drives and pop them into
a new box.

by the choices in MB/CPU/RAM products and decided to start with a package
and go from there.

Hi I have been running a 400Watt Power supply for about 3 years since my
350 melted and last November the 400 melted so now I've got a 650W supply
and it's cool & quiet.
 5 x Hdd 1 x DVD 1 x DVD/CD RW floppy multi card reader + front USB
Firewire nVidia 5600 GX 8 x AGP graphics P3 3.2Gh 1.5Gb RAM Gigabyte MOBO

Power supply is made by Q-TEC PSU triple fan 24P gold plated both 24 & 20
pin systems cost= £45GBPounds or $75US
