Don't know about your side of the pond!! I got a Dell Insperon 1300 Laptop for Christmas £350 inc delivery and vat. They have just yesterday repeated the offer. 14.1" wide screen, 1400 cellery with 400Mhz FSB, 40Gb 256Mb. Runs Linux like a champ, SuSE 10.0 Dual boots with XP-Home. Downsides for me, no com ports, no PS2 ports. However cardbus recognises dual port serial card under either O/S. I have yet to get the wirless card to work under Linux though. > -----Original Message----- > From: Windows Home/SOHO [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Gareth > Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 1:19 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: Gen: Cheap Notebooks > > I have to acquire an inexpensive notebook (less than $800).
