The usual Linux commands are something like this:

#to configure ip address

ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.5 netmask 255.255.255.0

#to specify gateway

route add -net default gw 192.168.1.1

The commands should be entered from a console window.

Pretty close to what's asked when one clicks "K/Knoppix/Network&Internet/network card configuration" as I suspect it's probably a console window with a script that asks ip address, netmask, gateway & nameserver.
