I did this for a year or so. It requires careful attention, but it can be
done.

The Rules would be:

1. Both machines must be set to retrieve mail and NOT leave it on the
server. This prevents the double-delivery problem.

2. After using laptop, laptop must synchronize with home PC before using
home PC for E-mail.

3. After using home PC, laptop must synchronize with home PC before using
laptop for E-mail.

4. Both machines cannot be used for E-mail at the same time.

You notice I wrote the above from the perspective of laptop controlling the
synchronization. In my case, the PST on the laptop was in a briefcase, so
the synchronizing task was always done at the laptop. You can use any file
synchronizing software of course.

Subject: sharing an Outlook file between two 2-PC's?

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to share and or sync one Outlook
(*.pst) file between two computers (my laptop I use at work and my home
PC). Though I say I use the laptop at work I am no way connected to an
Exchange server.

I managed to copy the file back and forth but the problem I ran into was
mailed I downloaded at work would download again when I got home.

Thanks
David
