If you have a retail or upgrade version of XP, you can choose to upgrade the existing installation. 18 GB is large enough for upgrading XP, unless it's more than half full already.

However, I've noticed that when installing WinXP Pro on a system that already has a working Windows operating, it installs in a multi-boot fashion. How do you prevent that and install WinXP so that it is the Only operating system? Must you format the C: drive first? If so, whats the best way to do that when you only have one computer? I need to install WinXP Pro on a computer that is currently running Win2K from the C: drive (which is an 18.1 GB partition on a 60.0 GB hard drive) and I want it to replace the current Win2K OS. I don't want two operating systems installed. TIA for any and all suggestions... Have a wonderful day!
