Good idea. Now, how do I do that over the phone?
We've been around these Win Lists now for how long? I've been around
since the inception & I don't recall such a hoopla over the drop-down
arrow. I have no problem telling people over the phone to click the
drop-down arrow as I tell them where they can find the arrow for
example on the right hand side of the address bar in IE. FWIW this is
a graphical symbol, a triangle that points down when using the Xp
Classic Mode as opposed to a down arrow & in either case I don't have
any problems asking a user to click it & they don't have any problems
finding it. BTW who cares what the drop-down menu is called unless
you're writing a program? Will you get hung if you call it a list
box instead of a combo box or instead of a drop-down menu?
Sorry but in order to diagnose a problem one needs to know the source
of the problem. ;-)
The phone was a metaphor. The truth is that I'm writing a tutorial that I wish to be both succinct and unambiguous.
