Re: "want everything to work as it should" Me too
And a new thread/post subject would have been appropriate to get more attention and a faster response -------- However - considering your post Repair install should be using the password associated with the administrator ID But - what went wrong that requires a repair? If you are now using Administrator as the id, then try not entering any password. If the system will not recognise the userid you used to install the system, try adding a new user 'Administrator', do not specify a password And make sure that before you start you have separated the system from the internet, and any LAN (for safety, I usually pull the comms/modem cable(s) out so the system is on it's own) Now see if you can do the repair. And - don't forget to set a reasonable password before re-connecting to the outside world All I can say is that the systems I setup work without an id of 'Administrator', but if you have got to a state where you need to do a repair, then the first thing you need to do is find out why the system has whatever problems you are experiencing Then restore from your backup of the installed and specialised system. A major problem with repair is that it puts part of the system back to the fix status as when it was originally installed, and you then need to bring whatever was changed in the repair back up to the latest fix state.
