That is determined by the ISP and depends on what equipment
they have and what service they want to provide. They will
(should) tell you what to use. Among the various types:
ethernet (direct), PPoE, PPoA, plus a few others, some of which
are used regionally, or specialized, such as PPTP or RAS.
