sigh, caveat emptor, yes it SEEMED to have rolled back dx perfectly, but 
online gaming was totally screwed, everything reported my ip as my LAN 
IP not my WAN, far too much messing about to fix, a quick wipe and fresh 
install is in order, my XP's 6 months old anyway, I guess dx IS 
un-removable after all
