I am glad somebody agrees that a speaker's mouth being close to the mic is important. Most microphone attendants for public speakers rely too much on the sensitivity of the mic to pick up ok at from 6 to 18 inches or more from the speaker's mouth. True, it will amplify the speaker's voice, but it will transmit far more fidelity if the speaker's mouth is close to the mic.

Full co-operating requires that the speaker not be moving about a lot and the microphone attendant will put the mic close to the speaker's mouth. The neat thing about headset mics are that no microphone attendant is needed for public speakers or singers. Most singers tend to their own mics.
