I have SBC/Yahoo DSL and I do not use their software. You can if you want to but I didn't. You can set up mail and news accounts without using their software.
See the FAQs and read the forums at: <http://www.dslreports.com/forum/ilec,am?> <http://www.dslreports.com/faq/amfaq/1.3%20Establishing%20moving%20&%20upgrading%20DSL> I was using Win98SE when I got the service so I had to use RASPPPOE for the pppoe and when I got the Netgear router I just gave it the user ID and password and let it handle the pppoe. I have A SpeedStream DSL modem and added the Netgear router later. > Hey there, > > We moved last week and in my new house I signed up with SBC/ATT > Yahoo DSL.
