Okay, tried Kerio and it kept giving me the BSD. ZoneAlarm doesn't.

When you got the BSD did it all do a memory dump?
Yes, although I do not know what that meant, what it was doing, or why.
I simply rebooted. It happened 3 times within 3 hours. I promptly
uninstalled it and reinstalled ZA.
