Hi,

If none of the suggestions work, do a search for rootKits. See tools at
sysinternals.com and f-prot.com. I am not sure about the url for f-prot.

Hmmm... No luck so far. He is in NJ and I am in NV, so I cannot see
exactly what he is doing. He says he has followed all of the directions
and has found no laughing sound file on his computer. We looked for
MP3's also.

If Bill's suggestion doesn't pan out - search for all the *.wav files on
the
drive and see if any look suspect - then play to verify it's the right
one.
If you can't identify the cause based on the file's location, search the
registry for that file name.
