Hi Wayne,

No ME (blech!) on my network, & the 98 (miniature Libretto) has been powered off for a week.

Look into WINS tomorrow. Where's that drink?

Regards,

BTW, I had a similar issue with the Win2K machine after installing EZ-Armor. It was never resolved by their tech support (they're forgiven!). That was with an HP 930C. No problem with the Epson (direct).

Wayne, where do I learn abount Wins? (at Win's World?

Very funny & just for that Wayne won't tell you where they are at especially since everyone knows it's Wayne's World. <lol>

WINS is a whitelist of IP addresses that a machine checks to connect to before it even checks the host file. You probably don't have a WINS tab under your NICs properties & if you did you'd probably be on a 9x machine. OBTW if one has problems with a 9x or ME maintaining a connection or very slow network speed with a 2k or above LAN then add the machines ip addys to all the 9x & ME machines WINS tabs in the NIC's properties & you'll see an improvement. Are you sure there isn't a 9x machine on your LAN as you didn't mention if there was one or not?
