Nope.  I was suggesting you let it run while you're using it
normally, and just check on it at the beginning and now and
then.  Given that it takes as long as you say it does, I'd
expect the cause (or at least the symptoms) to be rather
evdient.  There is the odd chance that it is waiting for
operator intervention (to delete a virus for example) at
some point, and just eventually times out, for example.
