If the LinkedIn icon is not visible, make sure the bookmarks
toolbar is not hidden. To unhide a hidden bookmarks toolbar,
turn on the Bookmarks Toolbar under View>Toolbar.
If the LinkedIn icon is still not showing and you have the
Bookmarks Toolbar shown, you will need to manually add the
LinkedIn icon to the toolbar. Go to
View->Toolbars->Customize..., and drag LinkedIn Companion from
the Customize Toolbar window to the toolbar. Click Done, and
you should now see the LinkedIn icon.

Also if you are using a Theme other than the default, some
Themes don't play nice with every extension. I had a Red Cats
Theme that didn't allow the Resize Search Box extension to
work.
