> Do you want a scanner only or would you go for a
printer/scanner/copier/etc?
I would consider it, but wouldn't it drive the price up considerably?
Not necessarily - it all depends on the quality and features of the printer
that's included. Maybe the quality and features of the scanner too - my
3-in-1 doesn't have a flatbed, so i can only scan paper that the feeder can
handle but my sister's HP is a flatbed. I don't think it's legal size
though. I'm not real impressed with my 3-in-1 and mostly use it just for
fax, since i have better printers and scanners (and the scanner's
location doesn't require me to leave my chair.) i think mine was inexpensive
one - HP sent it to me to review before they released it and i think the
model was quickly replaced.
some people don't receommend a 3-in-1 because if one part goes bad you need
to replace the entire unit - but they seem pretty reliable and after a few
years many people want a newer model with more features anyway - and thats
about the point a printer starts acting goofy.
