That's because there are at least 3 versions of license keys: 1) VLK - Volume License Keys - bought from MS, usually only used by larger companies as it allows them to manage the keys online, amongst other features. 2) OEM - what Dell, IBM and most of box pushers use 3) RETAIL - what you buy at the store like Best Buy. They are NOT interchangable, and to the best of my Knowledge, there is no easy way to determine from the License key itself, what type of install it is. > Any idea how to get this to work WITHOUT formatting?
