you could write a macro... but unless you've written outlook macros, it will
take you a long time. :) I would do it one of three ways- Wayne's way is my
# 3. Which i choose would depend on the capabilities of the sync software
(it's been at least 3 years since i used that software) and how often i did
it. #3 is the best for infrequent syncing as you need to remember to close
outlook and open it with the new profile before connecting the phone.

1) make two contacts folders. use one (the default unless the software lets
you choose the folder to sync) for phone, the second for email. The only
problem is you'll have is if you r-click on an address to add them to the
address book - they'll go to the default folder.

2) use one folder and categories to keep them straight. only problem is,
you'll sync all, unless the phone software lets you filter by category.

if you sync daily, i'd probably go with #1. #2 only if i had a limited # of
non-phone contacts or it filtered by category.

Hi all,

Until very recently, I used to use Eudora as an e-mail client. I also used
Microsoft Outlook but as the store for the contacts from my cell phone. I
have switched to Microsoft Outlook as an e-mail client and now find myself
in the predicament of my own making.

I regularly synchronise my mobile phone with my PC using the supplied
software namely PC suite from Nokia. After my switch to Outlook, I did the
synchronisation and now, my e-mail contacts and my phone contacts have
merged. I would like to keep the two separate. Yes, there are some common
contacts who I call an e-mail regularly but in the majority of cases, my
e-mail contacts are different for my phone contacts. Also, by mobile phone
at the moment has 632 contacts which makes it very difficult to search for
a
contact when I want to call that contact.

One way to fix the situation is that I write a macro and Outlook and move
all contacts having a phone number to a separate folder. However, when I
synchronise my contacts, I would be faced with the same situation. I would
still like to keep synchronising my phone with Outlook without mixing my
e-mail and phone contacts.

Anyone any ideas on how to do this?

Pranav
