Before I do anything really disastrous, I'd like to know whether [and if
so, how bad] I've messed myself up: I have a new monitor [at long last
switching from CRT->LCD!]. The problem is that the new monitor cannot
support the resolution that the old one did... Now, if I were cleverer
[and had been thinking], I'd have gone into each of my accounts and
changed the screen resolution to the one appropriate for the new
monitor... But I didn't... So next time I boot the system will *try* to
come up with a resolution that my monitor can't support. What'll happen
at that point? The old monitor is not ready-at-hand, so isn't very easy
to put it back in so I can change the resolutions, so if possible I'd
like to muddle through directly with the new monitor... will this all
work or should I temporarily go back to the old monitor?

Thanks! /b\
