HI all,
Anyone know if there's a way or a utility which will tell me what
speed is the on-board ATA HD interface?
I personally use Promise controller, so I know what it is. But a
friend has Dell that's a few years old (WinME) and I'm wondering if
there's way or utility that can report the ATA speed.
Guess one way would be to open the box and look at the HD itself, but
that only proves what the drive is. Same for cable. One can
theoretically connect an ATA-66 drive with a 80 wire cable to an ATA-
33 controller - system will work (or at least I think it will).
Perhaps Dell would not do that, but...
Regards,
Rich
