Just when I installed the new drive. Old drive still works fine and
asks for no password.
It asks for a Hard Drive password

I purchased a used laptop, a Dell Inspiron 3800. I was trying to

wants a password. If I try and by-pass the password, it shows no
HD in the bios settings.
Is the wording of the password prompt similar to one of the following?
"Please type in the primary or administrator password and press <Enter>."
"Please type in the hard-disk drive password and press <Enter>."
BTW did you get the password prompt when the old drive was in the
machine? Or did the password prompt start with the new drive?
