You can copy shutdown.exe from an XP system and it will work. Whatever the motherboard reports as "CPU temp" I prefer to make sure that number is at least 10C below the max operating temp spec'd for the processor. AFAIK that is an on-chip sensor.
You can figure out the max spec temp for your CPU chip by looking up the number stamped on the processor (typically starts with AXDA2200 or similar). I have installed SpeedFan to keep an eye on the temperature and need a program that SpeedFan can call to shut down the computer if the temperature gets too high. Any suggestions? I'm running Win2k. Also does the XP-2200+ have an internal temp sens diode and how do I know if the motherboard reports that temp or the temp from the thermistor under the CPU socket? -- ---------------------------------------- WIN-HOME Archives: http://PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM/archives/WIN-HOME.html Contact the List Owner about anything: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html
