That's my understanding of how things are supposed to work. But, as
with anything else where these things are concerned, that doesn't
mean it does. <grin>
FWIW I use [EMAIL PROTECTED] & have it in my desktop shortcuts to other
machines that include that machine's IP address along with the pwd
so I can just click & be logged into another machine.
I only use the IP with UltraVNC to connect to another machine outside
of my LAN. For the machines on my LAN, I just use the computer
name. That way there's no need to even know the IP, so it doesn't
matter if it changes. If I want to connect to the kids' machine, for
example, I just enter "beejay" and voila!
