he said he found 1 small file dated may 2004 and it wasn't the missing one.

Search for bookmark.htm. Probably in Program
Files\Netscape\Users\ user. He may have just changed user
identity. Somewhere on the start menu Netscape has a tool for
that if I remember correctly.
