If your system isn't showing the extensions for common file types
(Windows Explorer option)
then your file probably has a hidden type of .txt
as it's real name is similar to
myjob.bat.txt

Use a command window and dir to check
rename in dos, or create a new file by copy con: myjob.bat
(F6 to end input to the file)
then back to windows explorer - use right-click select Edit to construct the
command stream
