Personal opinion:
Paragon, or Acronis

Give up the Ghost -
If for nothing else than to avoid the periodic (hourly) scan of your
partition while it looks to see what is new, or moved, so will be include in
the next incremental image update -
Don't use incremental - your problem, Symantec will still check
Writing a CD - who cares Symantec will hog all the I/O paths capacity
(only 6Gb to read each time .. or have you taken an image of more than a
10GB OS partition)

Oh! and don't forget Systemworks is not supposed (according to Symantec
support) to work on multi-OS, or multi-boot system
and Recovery Console is a second 'OS' boot option.

Done that. I went ahead and copied off the few things that get saved on
c
and restored the image. Been working fine for a few days, so I think tha
t
got it.

BTW: An interesting quirk of Drive Image 7 that I never had in the old

versions. The old versions you boot from floppy disks you make during

install or start it in Windows and it will reboot. Never had any problem

restoring C. With 7 though, you need the CD which I had to dig out. Tha
t
was fine. I found it. After the restore though I got the error
message "system32\hal.dll corrupt or missing, replace it" on boot. I had

to look it up in the microsoft knowedge base and then had to use the
recovery mode from the xp disk to run bootcfg /rebuild. Then edit the

boot.ini to delete the extra os entry so it would boot without the 30
second count down. Maybe time to check out Ghost or something else. I

noticed Drive Image isn't even in local stores anymore.
