Hi,
Found the correct restore CDs with XP Pro. During the restore, I
noticed that every time Windows shut down to restart, it did not. It
would shut down, start with the Thinkpad options to RESTORE, CHANGE
BOOT SEQUENCE, then freeze. I waited as long a 120 seconds. After
that each time Windows shut down to restart, I repeated my sequence.
Does anyone have any idea why the laptop does not automatically
restart? Is it possible that I have a hardware problem. I do have
the IBM extended warranty contract, if needed.
Thanks,
Warm Regards,
Lou

Hi,
For some reason my TP A31 will not accept the F11 to restore the
system. IBM support did send me a pair of restore CDs. However it
seem that these support Win98, not the XP Pro that came with the used laptop.
Does anyone know if this model came with XP Pro or Windows 98?
Thanks,
