If your imaging software will recognize the USB drive, that would work. If you've never done this with NTFS and that means you've never done a Windows NT, 2000, or XP hard drive replacement, you can't simply "copy" one drive to another the way you could for Windows 95/98/ME. You need special software which is called "imaging" software. It makes an exact copy of the drive.

Can I get an external USB drive case and use that with the drive manufacture's software to copy the original drive to the new drive in the USB case? If that won't work how can I do it? The laptop is a Gateway running XP home and has 2 partitions on the too small drive. -- ---------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is your picture included in the Official Win-Home List Members Profiles Page? http://www.besteffort.com/winhome/Profiles.html If not, write to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
