I beta tested for Pointcast Canada - was run by a division of the Globe and
Mail - was on dial up at time - got a real
nice golf shirt out of the deal -- ran 3 versions on my setup --loved it

still have some of its parts on system -- browser portion sort of still works
at last look:))
when Microshaft were trying to get ie 4 - 5 to run it was sometimes easier to
use the working of pointcast to get one
going on the web

rss can not hold a candle to what they had to offer -- just wish i had seen it
run on a dsl type connection
greed took it down -- thought the could get more -- they found out the hard way
