No my friend it not money is the problem for I can get to work on a bus but I
choose to drive a BMW.

Your wife chooses to drive XP pro.  Donate your own laptop with XP pro for use
only but don't give it to them - you might even get the depreciation against tax
as a charity gift.

Actually you are looking in the wrong window.  Forget about retail MS do student
versions and the only requirement is that the person using it had something to
do with education in the very broadest sense.

Here in the UK I can but the student version (no different but order has to be
verified by a member of the school, college etc. with a stamp) for 70 GBP
whereas the full retail version is more than twice that.

Office 2003 pro is similar @ 102 GBP instead of 450 GBP no difference and
nothing missing.
