More on this USB-to-serial port business.

At work, we also have the problem of running legacy stuff with a modern USB-only laptop (Lenovo). Best bet is to use a full port replicator in our case. We got 1 to see, & opened the case. Lo & behold, zero electronic parts - just wires from the zillion-way connector to all the "normal" connectors on the back! I want one too, as I ran into the problem today, trying to install a finger-print reader on my LT. "Missing dongle" said the program.

Is there somewhere to buy refurb'd LTs with LPT/COM/FDD/CD (& USB!), like the ancient Armada E500 I have to use?

BTW, my new HP laptop does not have a serial port and my weather station connects via a serial port.

Thanks,

Warm Regards,
