Correct, copying the system files would not have been
productive. BUT "copy XP Pro" (which generally means the OS...
which generally means copying the *contents* or an *image* of
the drive) from the old drive to the new drive (which is what
ALL the answers you received were based on) might have been. I
guess we all ASSUMED too much, and answered what we *thought*
you asked based on the context in which the question was asked.
So much for ASSUMING... =:-\
BTW the Seagate steps you posted is what you are looking for IF
you want a *FRESH* XP Pro install. IF you want to "copy XP Pro
(the OS, NOT the installation files) from the old drive to the
new drive", another part of the same software allows for that.
IOW the software will allow you to pick one or the other, but
it will NOT give you the XP PRO CD or the XP Pro installation
files, which you will need to supply. But that is NOT a
shortcoming of the software or the drive!!!

So basically you were asking how to copy the XP Pro
***INSTALLATION*** files from the old drive???
Yes. Sorry for not being more specific. I didn't think that
copying the system files would be productive.
