My youngest son (42) and his family have moved to England for a couple of
years. They will be staying at Blanford Camp while he works on the British
Army Internet Site. We agreed to get Skype in order to talk without having
to take out loans and I purchased a Skype headset which is nothing more
that a Logitech headset with USB input to the computer. I got that headset
and called my son and the headset worked fine except Ken (the child)
complained that it sounded as if my mike was "always on". I then purchased
a less expensive Logitech Headset that plugged into the audio card on the
computer, one plug for audio out and one plug for the mike. This works
well but I haven't had an opportunity to try it with Ken. I am running
into a problem with switching between the USB headphones and the audio plug
headset (for want of anything else to call it). It seems the computer is
reluctant to switch between the two. When I plug in the mike and line out
plugs into the sound card and get it working I cannot seem to switch back
to the USB headset by unplugging the audio plugs and repluggingt the USB
plug for the other headset. I haven't found a way to force there system
back and forth.
I'd appreciate suggestions.
