Don't know about Sonic Wall but you will have to open port 21 & 22 (?) then
allow all outbound connections and inbound for FTP, FTP passive and any
individual program such as a dynamic address locator/converter. I use
"No-Ip.com" for this so when my ISP changes my address anyone can still log on
using the name ftp://myservername.no-ip.info or whatever....
I think there are a few other outbound and inbound ports that need to be opened
but cannot remember off hand.
Can't Sonic help?
