If Vista is anything like the Windows operating systems prior to Vista, the customer will receive what the OEM wants them to receive. I furnish the Windows XP Home OEM CD from Microsoft, unfooled around with.

I am not going to fool around with the media and remake it. If that is a requirement with Vista, I will not sell Vista computers. I want the Vista DVD from my supplier, unfooled around with, so I can pass it on to the end user.

Just what you were REQUIRED to do all along...
I can't see them changing that anytime soon... JMHO.

Just as a refreasher, (IIRC some other older posts) the end user is
"supposed to get the OOBE "Out Of the Box Experience" themselves,
AND see and accept the end user license (EULA) THEMSELVES...
I suppose after "all that" they are asked to ACTIVATE THEMSELVES.
(Normal train of events, if they are "small users", with you as a "small OEM".)

MS gets REALLY cranky if you modify their INSTALL CD and THEN
make "your own" and re-distribute it... In ANY case, I'm sure the original
one would always HAVE to "go with" something like that...
Lets say you made them a slipstreamed one with a just released major SP?
(Been too long since a big SP, so that won't "fly" anytime soon... <grin>)
Maybe you could justify that since "they" could always do that themselves...??
Where did you see or read that YOU could even "think" about doing anything
else?? (Maybe I did not read this right...)

Before you say DELL DOES IT, (or something like it) that is some sort of
"MAJOR OEM" deal they (and others) have with MS, and does not apply
to you and me as VERY "small OEM"s.
PLUS, (IIRC) DELL has to use very special CD pressing plants certified by
MS for this type of thing...
