Unplugged from wall. Grounded myself. Box has been open for three years.
Removed the battery and replaced the new one in a manner of seconds. Don'
t
believe I touched anything other then the batteries. Turned on and the
computer went through the extended RAM test and then nothing. No beeps.
Just stopped. No hard drives or DVD_ROM drive came up. Turned off and
restarted. Hit F2 to enter setup and after RAM test computer stuck on
entering setup. Turned off and replaced old battery. No differnece. 6 yea
r
old PII 400. 383MB RAM. Dual boot 98/ Xp. Using public PC at the moment s
o
my reponse time might be in excess of 24hrs. TIA.
